boy it's cold out there....

Over the weekend, my DH hung the rest of the Christmas lights in shorts--Yes I said shorts, it was 70 degrees when he started and then it plummeted down from there. As you can see from the picture of our flags it was windy as well - really windy.



We made cookies this weekend too, well Allen helped....lol Here is the proof...














And of course the doggies were decorated too! The Dogs BoWow made these cute bandana's you insert the dogs collar in, so cool! Rowdy (doxie) right and Bandit (chi) on the left. Showing off their digs!










So now the cold, cold weather is here - yesterday driving to work was slippery and stressful! Today, sorry to say but I just gave up, it was too slickery out there and it scares me that other people are so careless and drive fast! Sometimes you just have to wonder if it is worth smashing your car or better yet hurting yourself--I took the selfish route and went back home!

It does not feel like Christmas.....

this weekend here in OK is going to be in the 60's and windy so it's not feeling like Christmas! Famous last words because the news is talking about an ICE storm early next week, yuck!! Or maybe it won't be so bad.......Well I made a card for my SS person at work, I am really happy with the way it turned out. I pulled my ideas from TH 12 tags of Christmas which I will also incorporate into my family Christmas cards too! Speaking of which I need to get started on them so I can get them in the mail!!!

Been a long time..........

I really have to make a better effort in keeping this blog up!

Anyway there has been so much going on. We had Thanksgiving in our new house this year! My son, Marc, came up from Texas, my mom and sister, Britani and Ben, Terri, Michelle and Michael. It was a houseful and lots of food too! The weather was nice outside a few sat on our patio and ate. We had a busy weekend too, went to Best Buy, Target and a few smaller stores. Marc got his laptop, yay!! We went to Rhema on Saturday night to see the lights, it was awesome as usual - they do such a great job!

Fast forward to today.....been working on my Secret Santa tags along with getting the gifts together. We do a ssecret santa at work, it is so much fun to do- I also have been checking out the Tim Holtz 12 tags of Christmas as well - that's what inspired the idea of tags for my SS person at work, thought they dressed up the gift.So I have 5 days of SS gifts and three tags made. I will post them here..I also had to make a snow flurry card for my Stamp swap, which I will post here too!

Oh yeah, I asked my fabulous husband to hang lights on our house, look at the pretty lights....we have the front left side over my craft room window to finish and the back patio.

Where does it go?

Where does the time go? We were over a friends house last night playing a card game called sequence - we had a blast!! Next thing we know it's 4AM!! Wow!

So today I took it easy and worked on a few things, see pretty pics below. I also got my calendar together for swaps that I belong to! Instead of rushing to get a card done in time for the swap, I figured I would mark it on the calendar and I can work on it at my leisure.......smart thinking eh?? We will see how long it takes before I am frantically finishing a card to make the deadline!!

Bridal shower...

Today is my niece's bridal shower. I made her this card and this LOVE word book and got her some Pampered Chef stuff!!!

It has been a long time.....

since I have posted!!! I have been busy working on scrapbooks, cards and gifts. I have also gone back to work-whew! It is nice to be back around friends and working- sure wish I could win the lottery so I can stay at home and play!! Here are some things I have made recently........

On a creative roll today!!

Well I went crazy today with cards!! My craft table is clean for now! Had so much stuff on it that I could not focus. So it is nice and clean, yay!! Still working on my flea market find, the cubicle thingy, need to get that hung up so I can fill it!! Found some "skittles or dew drops" as they are sometimes called and had a blast with them today! They are so fun to work with! My son graduated from the Marines last week so now I have a bunch of pictures and more coming from my son's other grandparents! I am going to be busy putting together some scrap books! My son actually asked me to make him one, WOW!! So I thought I would be nice and make one for his dad, his other grandparents, Friend of the family, My mom and sister and of course one for me!! I will also be making an Air Force one for my fav cousin's son who recently graduated as well!! So I am going to be busy and plus I am going back to work after being on short term since the end of January!!

Acrylic block

Aw so cool!!

Tim Holtz had challenge on his blog and I had some acrylic squares----so here it is. It was fun to do, I only did one square since I was not sure where I would use them---but I think I am addicted to the technique!! I will try to make some more this weekend!! Stay cool! It has been in the 100's here--so hot!!

Another creation!

I love the simplicity of black and white cards, the look so elegant! I have been trying to use what I have instead of buying more stuff ---I have a lot of stuff!!! Graphic 45 has some awesome papers!!! I bought a pack of the Botanicabella assortment today and gave it to my BFF for her to enjoy! I will buy some more....later... lol!! So many new things from the Chicago show are coming out - Tim Holtz has some fabulous new stamps, distress crackle paints in metalic colors and distress stickles too!! Oh I want them all!! I am trying to get my hubby to build me some shelves for my craft room so I have better storage--oh speaking of storage, I bought a shabby chic cubie thing at the flea market this weekend for $10.00!!! Woo hoo!! I thought about painting it and then stamping on it and then I thought it looked best just the way it is--has character!!! I posted a picture of the cubie thing and a new black and white card! Enjoy!!

Black & White card

Well I have had so much fun working on this black & white card. Just two simple colors and they look so rich and elegant. I have posted one of the two I am working on, the second one is not finished- It's all an idea in my head. Thinking of using Tim Holtz grungeboard and painting it black with the distress crackle paint...I have zebra paper too,hmmmm. Time to get back to the drawing board and play some more...have a great night and a super weekend~~

Ok, so I went crazy there...lol - Croppinsville had a Friday Challenge on 7/04. They provided a sketch and a sample to show you what it would look like. I thought it would be fun to try! I always make square cards, so this was fun!! Here are some examples in this post for you to see!!

New cards

Wow this is so easy to forget to update!! I added some new cards and a song to my slide show - which is now located at the bottom of my blog --it was on the side and kept on getting cut off- so I moved it!! Nothing mush has been happening here SSDD! I have so many ideas for things I want to do, it seems that I cannot just go sit at my table and do them!! Maybe one day I will!!

Almost forgot....

Wow I keep forgetting I have a blog to keep up with!! Been busy the last few days, trying to get my craft room in order so I can find things!! Not really making progress! Our neighbors moved today, it's so sad cause they had a cute dog and I think my dogs and the other neighbors dog miss him!

I joined an online group to share cards, art, etc with for a few reasons- 1) to keep busy 2)to keep my mind and hands active. Recently being diagnosed with MS I have delved into reading what I can about it, most of the information says to exercise, one thing I totally dislike doing! Thank goodness Wii came out with a new fitness game called Wifit, you can check it out by going to www.wiifit.com. its very cool!
