Sunday Sunday!

So much for keeping up with my blog!Maybe I should do it every Sunday? No promises however I will do my best to keep it to Sundays!

Since we have had ice and snow here I am stuck inside - is that a bad thing? So I worked on my For the birds swap, see pictures below - I decided that I wanted to do something different so I had some CD cases and blank CD's - I put gesso on the CD thinking I would paint it and then stamp on it - well I did not like the look so I sat there staring at it and decided to work on the cd cover - the one with the BIRD letters is the front and the other is the back - I burned a nature CD and placed it inside the case! La la it's done and if I must say so it's totally cute! I got the info this morning on who I need to mail it to! Hope she likes it!

I have seen so many necklaces using TH fragments and they look great. So I decided to create one of my own except I did not use fragments, I used glass and some of my favorite things - I love the finished product!

My last goodie of the day is this card I did just for fun or maybe Valentines day?

Today I need to make two birthday cards, work on my Spring swap and pay bills, yuck! Yuck is for the pay bills part not the cards or swap!

I will leave you with this verse of the day:

Get all the advice and instruction you can, so you will be wise the rest of your life!
Proverbs 19:20

Have a blessed week!

Catching up!

It has been awhile since my last post! I really need to get better about updating my blog! Some days there is nothing of interest to blog about, the 24 hours in a day aren't enough for me sometimes!

Well the Everything Wendy Yahoo Group had a grunge rose swap, previous post I showed the roses I recieved, which were beauties! This lovely goodie is from the second part of the swap - you had to take one rose and make art! Eileen from New York did this nifty piece for me! I finished Eileens yesterday and will mail it on Monday. I wil post a picture of it when she recieves it. Do you ever wonder when you create something if it is good enough art for the person you made it for? I panic sometimes as I do not create everyday and have not been schooled in art either! Some of these folks in my Yahoo groups are so talented, I just wonder when I can make things that look as good!
Alrighty then onto the next item - I went into Collinsville to get some supplies at Croppinsville, yes I know Allie is not there, however, her husband and son were manning the store! After gettting my goods I drove by the local chinese place and thought hmmm chinese sounds yumo right now, so I stopped, they were freaking closed! So disappointed and so hungry for chinese right now! Oh wait there's one on 86th street in Owasso......on the way there I can stop at Goodwill, get chinese and head home, sounds like a plan!! Well I don't go to Goodwill as often as I should cause I got theses fabulous items! The pan is a donut pan, of course I'm not making donuts! The wonderful Suze Weinberg creates these donuts using UTEE and uses them as jewelry pieces --Eureka what a great idea and I now have the pan in my hot little hands for $3.00!!! The other item is suppose was used to hold CD's in, I had other plans for it! I decided to use it for my Ink pads, I have so many and like to keep them in one area of my craft table where they are visible or else I don't use them - out of sight out of mind! That terrific find was $6.00, so it was a good recycle day at Goodwill I thought!! If you catch it at the right time you can always find something you need! It is interesting now when I look at something I don't always look at it for the use its intended but for art! Funny!
Well I am off to melt some UTEE and see what I can create!
Have a wonderful day!
Remember to thank a soldier too! Top secret info - one of my family members is in the sandbox, not my son - please keep this family member in your prayers for a safe return and guidance to make the right choices during this time! ALso please pray for another family member in hopes their unit does not get deployed ---young babies at home!
Peace and Love!

Second sitting of the Tattoo and more me stuff!

These are from the second sitting....Chad worked on the details on the bottom or from the waist down. It's coming along nicely..one or two more sittings and it will be done!!

Ok now onto me.....here are the tags I did for the Valentine swap.....almost done.....

just a few finishing touches and I am done!!

Here are my roses for the second part of the swap --I have to make something with one of them....hhhmmmm what do I do? Thought about a ring.....headband......barette (does anyone wear those?).........a bracelet....hum I don't know...gotta think, think, think...

Today is better

Had to take Bandit back to the vet yesterday. Seems he loosened a staple by his jewels - the vet removed it and gave him 6 more! He slept on and off yesterday- hard for him to find a confortable position I am sure!Thumb is healing nicely, except when I reach for something and then I remember its there!

recieved my goodies from Sky,Blue,Pink yesterday --Love their stuff!! Managed to get some ATC's done yesterday for a swap! YAY! I used some of the ATC things I bought from Sky, such fun! Today I am working on my Valentine tags for another swap....so much to do so little time!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Exciting evening..............NOT

Well last night Rowdy attacked Bandit and Boomer chimed in. They both had Bandit in their grip with their teeth! I was horrified, yelling, trying to get the two of them all of him while Bandit yelped. Finally got both dogs off and into their respective cages and tended to Bandit. He was pretty beaten up, there was blood all over him - I was freaking out. In the midst of getting the two bigger dogs, one of them bit me on my thumb, ouch! I proceeded to drag both cages out to the garage so Bandit could have some peace and me too! Wrapped him in a towel and sat down trying to calm us both. Bandit would not let me put him down, he needed to be held which I did. Allen came home and we looked over his injuries and decided he needed to see the vet. We really did not want to take the chance of something dire happening to him. He had a gash on the side of his leg and another one by his jewels. They were not bleeding any longer, but thought we'd rather not take the chance of infection or something worse happening. Allen took him to the vet today and he has 8 staples on his leg and one by his jewels. He is pretty bruised up too! The vet had to shave him to see what else was going on and found scratches on his back. Mind you Bandit is a 7 pound Chihuahua--poor baby got a dose of antibiotics and ointment to prevent him from licking his wounds. Thankfully the vet knocked him out for the staples and cleaning up. Here are some pics from yesterday and today, I am sure you can tell the difference between the days.

My baby and I are going to chill and watch tv!

Peace!

Vintage Tulsa Show, Art and Allen's tat

Catching up from yesterday, the internet was out ----funny how we rely on the web so much!
Connecting, emails, games! I had to resort to watching TV! Should have worked on my ATC'S though!
First here are pics of the second sitting for Allen's tattoo, if you're sqeamish skip them...This session Chad did the details on the bottom part of the image. the redness is irritation from being inked - it looks really good in person!

Vintage show:

Here are some goodies I picked up at the show ---Bingo cards, post cards, wooden & plastic bingo pieces, heart charms, game cards ----such fun ---wished I had bought more wooden bingo pieces...I will next time for sure!

After the Vintage show we went to an antique store in town. I bought these games, old book and muffin tin to put embellishments in. The muffin tin has since been bathed in alcohol ink, purple! Looks great! The old book will now be turned into a guest book for my daughter, Cassie, who is getting married - she's not my flesh and blood daughter but I don't care for the Step-daughter words ------Cassie asked me to make a guest book and I was on cloud nine that she asked. I thought it was kind of ironic that I had bought this book the day before, hmmmm someone knows something and is speaking to me telepathically!

I said in my last post, I think, that I was in a grungepaper rose swap ---well these and the goodies are from my lovely partner, Debby, in this swap. Her roses are beautiful, she did something different than I did to mine which I will try next time. Debby was also kind enough to gift me with some chipboard pieces and punchenella (SP?) This is the left over stuff after punching out sequence --isn't it cool!

These are my ATC's I am working on for another swap. The technique came from my friend Allie and I loved doing it. The stamp is Mona Lisa and she looks scared in this photo! he he!These are not done yet....hopefully I will get them done this weekend and then its onto the bird swap.........

That's it for now...off to QT for gas for the Vue ($2.50 per gallon!) and a Cappuchino!

Hugs all around!

Week is finally over!

We have had a cold blast of winter here! No snow, thank goodness, only chilly temps!

Got my roses done and mailed for an upcoming swap with my Wendy group, YAY! Waiting now for the second part to that swap which sounds like fun too! Need to work on my roses, they don'e seem to curl like others do ---practice makes perfect!

Next on the agenda is ATC's and Valentines tags! Sounds like a cold weekend so I may get those done - will post pics when completed!

Stay warm!

Altered dress form and some other things.....

Ok so I feel a bit guilty for calling in sick to work today. Really I did not feel well last night and when the alarm went off, I still was not feeling well. So I called in and pulled the covers over my head and went back to sleep! Finally got up about 11 and got around - coffee, yum! Feel ok, obviously ok to blog! The January kit and the last item are things I worked on over the weekend. The roses my hubby cut out last night and today I glued them together, a work in progress! Enjoy....I am going to lay down for a bit!

Here is my latest creation from the January Kit of the month by CroppinsvilleStudio!

The kit has great papers from Graphic 45, Tim Holtz goodies, ribbon and more! Be sure to check it out at http://croppinsvillestudio.com/

I had so much fun creating this - I love to create without instruction!

Working on grungepaper roses today for a swap due on the 10th of January - These roses are very pretty when someone else makes them! lol - guess I just need to practice, practice, practice! Hopefully I will have three good ones to send out!

Cheat sheet! lol
This is my other project I am working on! Yeah I know so many things to do so little time!

First day of the New Year!

So glad 2009 is behind me! I am really looking forward to 2010!!! No resolutions for me, I never keep them anyway!

Yesterday I went with my friend to get my haircut and then we went to some of the local scrapbook stores, Joanns and Windsor Market! Gosh I love Windsor Market, they have the most awesome stuff - next time I will take pics for you to see. If you're in Tulsa sometime stop by it's at 71st & Memorial behind Pep Boys. Unfortunately they were closing at 3 and we got there about 2:40, not much time to shop around :( I did find this ---oooh what a find!

Was busy today cleaning up my woman cave- I moved a dresser from our bedroom into my cave and rearranged things so I can find them, maybe! Did some labeling on plastic tubs. Threw some stuff into a bag to donate to my friends church for youth activities. The room feels so good, nice and neat! I have a blank wall that I would like to fill with art, so we will see what I do with it! Maybe I will use it for the great art I get in swaps this year!! Yeah great idea! Here are some pics of the woman cave in case you were wondering what that was ;0 - The guys have the man cave why can't we have the woman cave --now to get a sign that says no boys allowed!! lol
