Obsession with candles

Ok I admit I have an obsession with candles after checking out the Heidi Swapp blog! Went to Hobby Lobby today and snatched up a bunch of candles, they were 50% off - who could pass that up --certainly not me!! The big brown ones I got on clearance for $4.00 each, regular price was $19.99!!! What a bargain! Whoot whoot!!

What fun this has been! Still have more candles to do, however, that will wait until tomorrow!

Here are some of my creations:

Tag # 6

Woo hoo I finished tag #6!!!!!! I just need to do the first 4 tags now!!

Two pics- the first one is ok I think the first is clearer ---**note to self: learn how to take good pics***LOL

I used diamond for "ice" by the car...this was so much fun to make - substituted the dictionary page for a regular book page, think it came out nice. What a mess I made with all my stamp sets out, ink pads, glitter and flock.....maybe the crafty cleaning angels will come and clean up while I am sleeping....inky fingers crossed! X

I also made another candle - Now I am on the hunt for inexpensive pillar candles - this technique is great for gifts! The first one is a side view - I left the bumps, in person it looks nice!

Looking forward to tag #7 ----

Enjoy the pics.........going to clean up my inky fingers and hit the sack, early work day!

Peace & Love!

Tag #5

Finished up my Secret Santa gifts! I sat down and worked on tag #5 today- of course I am out of sync with the tags, need to do 1,2,3 & 4 as well! That will come when I have more time. Tag #6 is fun too, I am going to work on that later today and post tomorrow!

This tag was cool - some things I did not have, so much like everyone else I improvised and I think it turned out well.

Here is the link to T!M's blog so you can see what it is supposed to look like and the instructions as well: http://http//timholtz.typepad.com/my_weblog/ - He is one ispiring man!

Here is my tag:
I had to put it on the scanner cause the picture did not come out too good - the ornaments are a little off due to being on the scanner. Its a cool tag if I must say so myself!

Wax experience

LOL gotcha on that title uh?

Well I was browsing blogs yesterday and checked one of my favs Heidi Swapp, she is so cute! She did a video on these fab candles http://heidiswapp.typepad.com/my_weblog/2009/12/ok-make-candles.html and of course I had already bought some candles! Here is my result, while I did not print from my printer to the tissue paper, my printer is picky about what it prints on and my luck it would have jammed! I stamped using Tim Hotlz stamps! I think they turned out great! Hopefully the person who I have for the Secret Santa at work does not read my blog!

Tim did his 12 tags of Christmas again this year and for the first time I have not made one......yet...this may change I am in the creating mood and my fingers are inky already!!

ATC's

Look at those beautys! These are for my AllthingsTim holiday swap!

I must have made 12 of them - I started on one and then I didn't like it and finally came up with this one! I has Celia look at them for encouragement!

Will be dropping them off at Allies tomorrow - we are being eco friendly and mailing them together!

Oh and I made a Taylor pendant for Miranda----Kind of blurry, I had to put it on the scanner since my flash on the camera kept giving me feedback! Ain't he a handsome one!

Thanksgiving

I slaved most of the day making turkey, ham, sweet potatoes, corn, green beans, cranberry sauce and rolls. We stuffed ourselves silly and then (a few hours later) had some cherry cheesecake, pumkin pie, apple pie and pumkin muffins.......silly me forgot to take pics.....just imagine 8 really really bloated santa's!

Off to work on my Tim ATC's for a swap! Have to work off that dinner from yesterday!!

Creations

Ok I know it's only been two days since my last post! Wow I am posting within two days instead of a week or a month!! It's cold and raining out side! Yucky day for sure!

I joined an online group called All things Tim! I went in an looked at the pics of what people have done and holy crap what was I thinking - these guys and gals are talented! Can I keep up? Will my stuff be good enough? ugh!

I saw many cool things and right away the wheels started spinning! I have so much stuff and ideas on the backburner that I need to get moving on them. It just seems there is not enough time during the weekend to make art! I am going to have to start prioritizing the things I want to do. I did join in on an ATC swap - boy howdy I started on it - have no idea when it is due but hey I am ahead of the game!! Here are some pics of what I started working on, mind you I may change my mind in the end and do something completely different!

Ok I can't upload pictures for some reason- anyone have any ideas why? I checked the faq's section and did what it said and still cannot upload???

November, what????

Well alot has gone on in the last few weeks! Some highlights are:

We got a new puppy, he's half boston terrier and half ?, we don't know, seems his momma was not particular! He is a cutie, we named him Boomer! He will be confused during the Sooner games for sure!! Boomer Sooner, lol!!

I went to a Croppinsville After Dark party on Friday, October 30th and made some wonderful creations and really got inspired to get some things done! Looking forward to the next After Dark party in November!

Have been working on my closet in my craft room - it's the one where everything goes when I don't know what to do with it! I emptied out five boxes most of which went into the trash and I have one box for Goodwill! It's not done but it's looking better! Not taking any pics of that mess!! lol

Finally working on the old window pane I bought last year at the flea market! I have ideas and trying to make time to work on it----I will post pics when I finish!
These are the tags I made for one of my group swaps - Everything Wendy Vecchi (yahoo group) If you love her stamps, you should check out the group! There are a number of talented ladies, some are listed on the sidebar on the right!

I have plans to work on some jewelry and other altered items -----One project at a time!

That's all for now!
Take care!

St.Louis adventure!

Allie and I had a great time in St.Louis this past weekend!!

We left Friday and took our time driving up - we chatted and enjoyed the sites! We even tried to find a few scrapbook places along the way! Of course the first one we tried to find ended up in a neighborhood - guess it was someones internet business! Darn! I guess it was not meant to be!

We arrived at our hotel, checked in and then decided to find the store where we were taking our Wendy Vecchi class. To our amazement, there was a truck unloading oodles of stamps!! The owner of the store saw us looking in the windows and invited us in. We looked around at all the fab paper, Tim Holtz goodies and a ton of other great items!

Here is a picture of the front of the store:

On Saturday we got up early and headed to the store - Wendy was going to be there at noon for a book signing and we wanted to be there early to look around the store, ya know in case we missed something the night before!!

Allie looking in the window at Ted from Stampers Anonymous - he was doing demos!

Pic of Wendy at the table where she was signing her book: She is a wonderful person to meet - I encourage anyone that can to take her class and meet with her to do it! I really wanted to stand close to her to see if some of her creative energy would rub off on me, however, you really don't need to stand really close to get a creative vibe from her!

2:00 Class time!!

These are some of the awesome pieces of art that Wendy brought

Here is Wendy and Allie setting up for the class ----I was the one way in the back taking pics! Not that I didn't want to help, but you know with having MS you have to conserve your energy and I wanted to save it all for the class!! Sorry for the lines on the pic, not sure where they are coming from.

Lets see how many times I can say AWESOME!!

Wendy is a great teacher and her designs were awesome and very inspiring! Here is the finished wall hanging we did in class: The class was called: Lovin' the grunge!! We got a kit and the kit had the new filmstrip ribbon, which was a blast to work with -(now if I can only get my hands on some!!) We played with the Tim Holtz masks & rock candy stickles! Fun stuff!!

The grungepaper rose was fun to make - a little frustrating to do but once you get the idea it comes very easy!

After class we scooped up our purchases and headed off to dinner and then back to the hotel to play with our goodies! Class was very inspiring and awesome!

Trip back home on Sunday - we stopped at the St. James winery and bought a few bottles of wine- then to the cheese outlet- cause i need cheese for my wine!!

Monday back to work! Whew what a great weekend we had! Thanks Allie for the laughs and the conversation!!

We had a great time over at Roben and Sherri's. They got us hooked on a game called Sequence last year and promised to make us a board! So we went over on Saturday afternoon to put our board together and boy what fun we had! Here are the pics to show:
Allen hammering the nails for the frame with Sherri supervising - good job!
Roben lining up the cards to glue down!

Pieces to the game!
Finished board!
The game is played in teams, it was Sherri and I and Roben and Allen --Sherri and I lost 5 to 3! We had loads of fun!

The garden is growing and the grandpuppy....

The garden is really coming along - we have already picked some bananna peppers, jalepeno peppers and cilantro. The eggplant, bell peppers and tomatoes just need to ripen and grow larger. I can't wait to see the water bill for this month! It has been so hot so I have been watering twice a day instead of once!

Tomatoes Eggplant

Cucumbers & Cilantro

Green Bell pepper

It has been a busy few weeks- My daughter, Brit, had surgery and is recovering well. We have been watching our grandpuppy while she is in the hospital so Ben does not have to run home every few hours to let her out. Gucci, the pup, is three months old, my dogs don't know what to do with all her energy! We got a pool for her to play in since she loves water!
