Boring week....but my dogs are cute!

YOU did nothing this week? (Bandit and Boomer!!)

Well it was a bit boring here this week. I did something to my back this week and was out of commission for two and a half days! Ugh, getting old sucks! Dr. gave me a steroid shot in one hip and a muscle relaxer in the other plus a script for more steroids, yum!! Hate those headaches with steroids, have to drink lots of water and of course they make me hungry all the time! Thankfully I bought some healthy snacks - almonds, walnuts, craisins, etc... I suppose its back to the Wii Fit again to keep myself active!
So what did I do this week? Well not much of anything really - I jotted some ideas down for my 6X6 circus swap, got some things printed out and just sat there looking at it today - ugh it doesn't feel right - then I had the bright idea to put popcorn on it, so I popped a bag, ate some, took it outside and sprayed it with a clear coat. Now I am going to wait a few days and see what happens to it, wondering if its going to be too delicate for my pages! I have all my circus stuff gathered, where are those creative craft fairies when you need them???

Here are some pics: Necklace made with a twist off cap, postcard from a friend, Glimmer mists - my favorite spray right now and tonights dinner - taco pie! having friends over and they like mexican food!

Maybe this weekend I will feel more like playing! Thanks Sara for the card - I love it! Neat idea too!
Have a blessed week!

What am I doing?

2x2 canvas - fun but so small to work with!

I had a busy, busy week at work, wish it had been a busy week creating!

Jotted down some ideas for my 6x6 Circus pages swap- so today I will be making my template on the actual 6X6 piece to make sure it all fits before doing 16 pages! It's raining and gray out today which will make a great day to create and get all my swaps together!

Lets see what do I have to get done?

March monthly mailer
Black/white tags
Birthday cards

I think that is it for my swaps right now unless someone comes out with another one that catches my eye! I love doing swaps they keep me focused and creative!

My room needs to be cleaned up too! I create in such a mess, it looks horrible!

Played around with some jewelry pieces -Oooh got my artists choice ATC's from my ATT group! They are awesome, great ideas on these pieces!

ATC's by the fabulously talented: Kathy, Laura, Cathy, Pam, Kate, and Sue!!
Have a happy creative week!

Movies, boys and art!

This is what I woke up to this morning! Ugh!

What a great week and weekend!

During the week I was busy with ART:

Received my Valentines Tags from a swap, finished up my Spring ATC's, worked on my Monthly Mailer and got my order in from my favorite Etsy shop!

My Spring ATC's - I just added words that say "Spring time joy" figured they didn't need much else on them - I think they look fab!

Valentine tag swap - AWESOME! so much talent in the ATT group! See for yourself!

Finishing up my monthly mailer today since it has to go into the mail by 2/15! The monthly mailers are fun - Allie gives us a technique to use and we create something for our swap partner, really gets you thinking! Pics coming soon!
My new favorite Etsy shop is Karens craft supplies! She has the most awesome stuff and she ships fast!

I bought some large heart bails, large leaf bails, black leather necklaces, round glass pieces, dog tags and magnets!

The round glass pieces are thick! I saw in a shop I went to yesterday, these glass pieces decorated and on leather necklaces! They were awesome! So I have taken a stab at them myself! Why pay for something I can create myself!! I need to get some of the aluminum tape to go around the edge to make it look finished!

Birthday card for my EWV group.

Well today I have three of my favorite boys here! My cousin went to Dallas for the weekend and the boys were staying with Grandma & Grandpa - Allen and I decided last week to take them Saturday to see Avatar and have them spend the night. Avatar was awesome, the boys enjoyed it as well as Allen and I! Then we went out to my SIL's for my nieces birthday and brought my nephew home with us! So I have three boys, Allen and three male dogs in my house!! What fun, the boys had a blast playing the Wii and watching movies, have no idea what time they went to bed! They are all in the living room, two on the couch and one on the floor! Awesome! I remember when Marc would have his friends stay over so much energy filled the room, this is that same feeling! I am blessed!
Have a creative week!

Woo hoo!!

It has been a bittersweet week, my son, Marc and his girlfriend Casey came for a visit on Thursday. Marc is a Marine who will leave March 10-14 to Afghanistan, ugh. Can I call the prez and tell him not to send my baby boy? You hear so much about Afghanistan and Iraq that it is scary. Marc is in the Airwing division in Aircraft crash and rescue, basically a firefighter. From what he says they should be pretty much protected from the enemy - is he just saying that so I don't have a nervous breakdown? Thankfully Marc is much stronger than me! He's a good man and I am very proud of his accomplishments in life and the Marines. I've always read about the Blue Star mothers and their efforts to send freedom boxes - now I will be sending boxes to my son! As for Casey, she of course is a beautiful young lady who is very quiet and a vegitarian - more willpower than I - too much in love with steak to do that! Anyway it was a nice visit, too short! Please keep Marc in your prayers for a safe stay and a safe return home! Semper Fi!

Ok ART! I took a class Saturday at Croppinsville ----it was a junque journal taught by Sara . All I can say is WOW - what fun the class was and I learned so much. My daughter Cassie is getting married in September and she asked me to do the guest book- gasp, me! Of course I want it to be perfect so this class came just in time for me to learn and practice!! The only pictures I took were of my stuff during the class, another woman in class, Sharon, took photos of everyones work which I will see later in the week!

The junque journal is pretty much a journal to keep notes in - Sara gutted the hard cover book for us and made the signatures - we just had to put it all together along with our art work! The class was from 9:30 to 5:00 a long day for me- it was well worth it to learn from Sara! My friend Sharon has a birthday coming up.....this would make a nice gift! Here are some pictures from my almost finished book - Enjoy!

The first one is of the inside - second is the cover and the third is the spine -

Here are some ATC's I am working on for a swap in my Wendy group -Not completed yet but not much more to do and they will be finished and ready to be mailed!!

I hope everyone has a blessed week filled with good things and creative work!
